Objective This project aims to demonstrate an innovative integration of state of the art technologies resulting in application driven poly-generation based on biogas production and utilisation in combination with other existing waste heat streams for the tri-generation of heat, cooling and power. An Anaerobic Digestion Plant - ADP will be placed next to an existing landfill gas Power Plant - PP (consisting of 11 engines in parallel with 14MWe installed capacity) at an adjusted landfill site which so far operates without any waste heat recovery. The ADP will process Category 2 and 3 animal wastes (Regulation (EC) 1774/2002) as well as other organic wastes (approx. 18000 tons/year). The biogas produced, about 2800m3/day, will be provided to the nearby Power plant (PP) to be used for power generation to the existing Internal Combustion Engines (ICEs) and a new micro-turbine. In turn, the ADO will utilise part of the waste heat, which is now rejected by the PP, and will produce biogas that corresponds to approx.
