Project description Collective awareness platforms for Sustainability and Social Innovation Show the project objective Hide the project objective Through Call 10 the European Commission will support the development of many CAPS (Collective Awareness Platforms for Sustainability and social Innovation) STREP, IP, and CSA projects of diverse nature and focus. It is also expected that the CAPS topic will be given even greater importance in the first Calls of Horizon 2020.In this context of emergence and diversity of CAPS, and in order to reach a strong momentum that Horizon 2020 will amplify, it is important that an annual international conference focusing on CAPS can be organised, providing all CAPS projects with an opportunity to increase their visibility and impact in Europe and beyond, and to liaise with any interested stakeholders, including organizations developing similar projects in other regions of the world. These annual events will be key milestones in the present CAPS booming period, allowing to address issues of common interest, to develop synergies betweeninitiatives, and to discuss the CAPS research roadmap for Horizon 2020,The organization of these annual events is the main objective of the CAP2020 project. Two events (in 2014 and 2015) will be organized during the projectlifetime (24 months) in Brussels, so that a large participation from EC officials and other key institutions based in Brussels can be foreseen. These events will be organised in continuity with the "1st Dialogue on platforms for collective awareness and action" held in Brussels in September 2011 and organized by Sigma (CAP2020 coordinator) in the framework of the PARADISO2 FP7 project (see paradiso-fp7.eu) which Sigma has coordinated over the period 2010-2011, this "Dialogue" having been to a large extent the driver of the inclusion of a CAPS topic in Call 10.Close liaison with the CAPS Unit & the CAPS project portfolio will be implemented in CAP2020 to ensure the greatest success of these events. Reaching the self-sustainability of these events beyond 2015, i.e. after the end of the CAP2020 project, will be sought.
