Final Report Summary - IONOLOGY (Quantum Metrology with Trapped Ions)

Ionology is a project aimed at harnessing tools from the world of quantum computing to improving the prevision with which measurements are carried out. During this project we have demonstrated how active decoherence prevention can be used for the measurement of interactions between atoms, glimpse into their electronic structure, improve the performance of precise atomic clocks and search for new forces in nature and dark-matter. We believe the tools Ionology developed will be an important part of future physical measurement technology.
