Colloidal Iron Oxide Nanoparticles for the REclamation of Toxic Metal Contaminated GROUNDwater Aquifers, Drinking Water Wells, and River Bank Filtrations

Deliverables

Report on risk assessment under accidental conditions

Report on risks of the accidental scenarios including probability of changes in the soil and water compartment leading to release of the metal immobilized by the NPs, ecotoxicological and human health impacts and recommendations on appropriate risk mitigation measures.

Kick-off Meeting

UDE will organise and prepare the project's kick-off Meeting. It will allow all Partners (scientific, Management and Administration/financial staff) meeting together, clarifying actual procedures within the research activities.

Establishment of PAG

A project advisory group of at least three indepent experts from the relevant field of expertise has been invited, assigned and supplied with all relevant project documents. D1.2 will be a short report on PAG.

FBSA outcome report

Independent evaluators will judge on all project activities at the overseas sites, to ensure that the signed FSBA agreement has been fulfilled

Final international Conference

At the Final Conference, REGROUND will present its achievements, to both the public and interested scientific community.

Report on environmental and health impacts

Report on results from in vitro studies with functionalized NPs, mechanisms of actions and synergies between NPs and metals when the latter are adsorbed on the NPs.

Report on exposure levels at relevant conditions

Report on the concentrations of metals and NPs in the targeted environmental compartments before and after remediation, including where the pumping process for supply takes place, or the water body when reaching the surface.

Technology Assessment report

This report will describe technologies used, field constraints faced and solutions developed, and will draw out recommendations to enhance the technologies available (and used) on the injection processes, taking into account the lessons learned from the large scale application actions. TRL 7

FBSA signed

A fair benefit-sharing arrangement with stakeholders from the International Cooperation Partner Countries (ICPC) will be signed. This will agreement will ensure a fair sharing of the resources and outcomes of the project to local stakeholders

Basic toxicology report

Report on the eco- and human-toxicological risk of the new in situ groundwater treatment technology before and after remediation and the suitability of the “decontaminated” groundwater for different uses.

Documentary film

This deliverable will briefly summarize the efforts for creating the documentary film, as well as describe the dissemination plan for this product.

Evaluation of overseas application

After the injection of the REGROUND nanoparticles at the overseas sites, and the subsequent monitoring campaign, an evaluation of the success of the application will be carried out. D2.8 is not necessary for the main field sites, as this elaborately delivered in the deliverables D5.1, D5.2, D5.3, D5.4, D5.7 and D5.8. TRL 7

Website online

The project website will include two sections: 1) Public section dedicated to general non-confidential information, including: project description, consortium information, links to project dissemination events, non-confidential information about results exploitation, relevant European events and project area useful links. 2) Member Area dedicated to the exchange of project documents, reports, meeting minutes, progress results, internal training sessions, a forum section, etc. The site will be periodically updated and sections will be changed according to the needs arising during the project execution.

Complete set of communication materials available

In order to ensure the widest dissemination of project results, a comprehensive set of materials will be designed, printed and/or electronically posted (brochures, leaflets and press releases

First Communication materials available

First communication materials will be launched in order to inform stakeholders and interested entities about the scope and objectives of the project.
