SMART data collection and inteGRation platform to enhance availability and accessibility of data and infOrmation in the EU territory on SecoNDary Raw Materials

Deliverables

SMART GROUND Databank and Service Platform v2

Second version of SMART GROUND Databank and Service Platform

SMART GROUND Databank and Service Platform Final

FINAL version of SMART GROUND Databank and Service Platform

Learning and teaching web-based materials

E-learning videos and activities will be produced

SMART GROUND Databank and Service Platform v1

First version of SMART GROUND Databank and Service Platform

Final report on dissemination activities

Conclusions and impacts of the carried out dissemination and communication activities will be reported at the end of each period. Synthesis reports drawn from the dissemination report will be published for the general public through the project website

Stakeholders database

A database will be built, identifying the key actors and assessing their knowledge, interests, positions, alliances, and importance related to SMART GROUND platform

Innovation Management Plan

The Innovation Management Plan will set up measures and tools that ensure a continuous flow of new and disruptive opportunities and ideas in the project with the aim of supporting the achievement of project objectives and facilitating the uptake of the innovation produced by SMART GROUND.

Dissemination and exploitation plan

This document will provide a guideline for all dissemination activities carried out by the consortium, with a primary objective to support sustainable uptake of project results by end users and to receive feedback and validation on the project activities. Target user groups will be identified and ways to reach them will be developed. It will be a Live Document, being updated if necessary even after its formal delivery

Report on the environmental issues for mining in landfills, pre-treatment, transportation and utilisation processes

Analysis will be conducted to identify environmental, human health and safety issues for mining in landfills. In particular, samples of soils, water and air will be investigated to identify, classify and quantify the content of potentially noxiousness minerals and other inorganic compounds. Relevant processes for on-site pre-treatment, transportation and utilisation will be investigated.

Stakeholder engagement strategy

A plan will be developed to establish how the involvement of stakeholders will be achieved during the project lifetime

Material flow maps

Flow maps of raw materials will be assembled in order to carry out an efficiency, financial and economical analyses, including surveying material input and transformation processes in a city, modelling of actual trends in waste production and analysis of time-dependence of waste composition in landfills

Modelling on potential site

- Analysis and models - Enhanced information of the SRM potentials, similarities/ differences between the landfills and their potentials. - To recognize the sufficient combination of screening methods for the resource effective data collection from such landfills. - Creation of thematic maps about mineralogy, physical properties, etc. - Development of standard e-sheet for the different level data (measurements in landfills, waste flows from producers) collection to the databank is created. SCOPE: To define how the raw data collected should be integrated/ upgraded and presented in a databank. To define the software and database requirements to develop the databank to be created in WP3.

Training programme outline

A first draft of SMART GROUND training programme will be developed

Report on the impact assessment and interpretation of the sustainability analysis

Based on the data gathered (data inventory) and the model built environmental, economic and social analysis will be conducted to identify weak points and impacts. Impact assessment and interpretation of the sustainability analysis will be carried out based on criterions (scenarios, life-cycle analysis, material flows, market/economical potential). Weak points of the concerned processes will be revealed. Outcomes will be summarised in a report

General assessment of SRM in Europe and selection of target pilot landfills

Clarification of the factors effecting to the reusability of the raw material potential in the landfills in EU. Including the landfill typing according the EU legislations and general estimation of the volumes of SRM in EU (existing results, time series and open data banks). This is effecting to the: - Data Collection Plan for the 1.2 - Selection of pilots from each country

Proceedings of the final conference
Final conference
Training material production

Training material production: a set of training material (namely best practice guide, guidance material, toolkit and case studies) will be produced with the aim of increase knowledge transfer among relevant stakeholders and enabling an effective international reach of the project outcomes

Website

SMART GROUND web site will contain all public information of the project. It will be continuously updated and available for the whole duration of the project and at least two years after the end of the project.
