Periodic Reporting for period 1 - Toor-IG-ICT37-2014 (Enabling mass access to the social phenomenon of e-sports tournaments by integrating In-Game Platform in world’s leading video games)
Reporting period: 2014-10-01 to 2015-03-31
The feasibility study aimed to assess three key levels:
1. Technical: Test in-game performance and improve design and ergonomics.
2. Economic: Define the business model through meetings with global publishers and potential business partners
3. Legal: Identify data collection legal issues and the opportunity to protect our knowledge.
At the beginning of March 2015, members of Oxent went to the United States to meet the main publishers. Including meetings in Europe, Oxent had the opportunities to gather 14 interests and comments about Toornament services.
We performed a deep Freedom to Operate analysis regarding existing patent, registration legal issues relating to data collection and patent opportunities.
Each interlocutor understood the interest to have this functionality integrated in his game. The explosion hearings e-sports and its media coverage helped the actors understand the potential of our market.
Based on technical, economical and legal inputs, our will to pursue the project is confirmed and strengthened.
