1a. Publishable Summary
Our project is called « DIGISTONE P1 » and aims at addressing a major market opportunity in the supply of large, concrete multimedia displays primarily for outdoor digital signage and commercial applications. In particular, we are in the process of developing an innovative, intelligent building material in the format of a concrete media façade/display or information sculpture – a Digital Concrete Screen System (DIGISTONE) and we have a functional prototype ready at present.
The ambition of the « DIGISTONE – P 1 « project is to radically strengthen the competitiveness of our company’s offerings to the market. We will be able to supply Outdoor Signage Companies with a ground-breaking new digital advertising media made of CONCRETE for which we own the IP rights.

In terms of innovation, the innovative outdoor signage concrete display will result in a significantly lower total cost of ownership for its owners, decreased downtime and maintenance costs due to its resistance to elements and vandalism; reduced and eased service through slide-out service modules – and crucially, a radically new design, which gives high added value to advertisers and which allows application of outdoor signage with unrivalled architectural flexibility and aesthetic appeal.


Objectives
Objectives for the feasibility study was to produce a business plan showing how to best address the following points:
1)Investigate feasible and cost effective ways of manufacturing, hereunder design of and plan for establishing a pilot production line,
2) Investigate customer’s willingness to co-finance test prototypes in a realistic environment
3) Investigate possibilities and make a plan of financing the market entry activities in order to ensure having enough “working capital” to sustain a smooth market uptake.
Objectives
Objectives for the feasibility study was to produce a business plan showing how to best address the following points:

2) Investigate customer’s willingness to co-finance test prototypes in a realistic environment
3) Investigate possibilities and make a plan of financing the market entry activities in order to ensure having enough “working capital” to sustain a smooth market uptake.
Main results obtained :
1) a feasible way of production achieving the cost target prices has been designed together with a plan for establishing a pilot production line
2) we have made an agreement with an end-user and potential customer to co-finance the test prototypes in real-life locations
3) we have detected an array of realistic possibilities for obtaining financing and made a plan for how to prioritize this work
4) We have updated our business plan with the findings of the feasibility study and have begun the work with obtaining financing for the demonstration project.
The results of this feasibility study has further confirmed our business idea and this idea will be pursued to exploit its potential fully, which will mean the creation of more than 400 new job in Europe within five years.
