Periodic Reporting for period 1 - LIGHTKEY (Visible Light Communication (VLC) application for mobile devices as control access, validation, master key or secure payment solution.)

The LIGHTKEY phase 1 project carried out during the execution of this action aimed at objectively and rationally analyse the LIGHTKEY business potential for success. During the execution we have perform an assessment of the business model from different angles: technical, economical and operational. The following specific objectives were defined during the preparation of the action and have been addressed during the execution period:
• To validate market assumptions and analyse risk
• To identify the target customers
• To assess technical feasibility
• To define the product refinements
• To do an intellectual property study
• To detail a work plan for Phase 2 application
• To prepare a business plan
As a result of the Phase 1 execution we have decided to continue with the project and to submit a Phase 2 proposal in order to execute the work defined in Phase 1.

As a result of the Phase 1 execution we have decided to continue with the project and to submit a Phase 2 proposal in order to execute the work defined in Phase 1.
Our study has concluded, we have verified our previous hypothesis, modifying them in some cases. The main conclusions is that we want to continue the road towards a successful commercial exploitation of LightKey. Furthermore, the activities carried out during the phase 1 action, let us to start a H2020 phase 2 application process. LightKey responds to topic ICT-37-2014/2015 Open disruptive Innovation Scheme.
After defining the target markets for the fisrt steps of the commercialization of the LightKey results, the core activities that need to be executed during the Phase 2 execution and adding the necessary external support to the project plan, we have prepared a Phase 2 proposal that is submitted to the September 2015 call.

LIGHTKEY will represent a major change in the way access control and identification are done. Our results will rich the market in three different forms:
• Version 1.X is Lightkey along our hardware unconnected; in this case, the product can be used when the requirements need an easy way of use. The code necessary in the receptor is implemented by a manual switch.
• Version 2.X of Lightkey is the product with a IP connection, using this feature the product can be used as one of the IOT objects links, this product also include a software platform for connecting one to each other and with other object using TCP/IP in Internet or other communication protocols, and this implementation opens a huge range of services and different models of business.
• Version 3.X based in an API to permit a wide use for developers in their solution as a third area of product development, fixing a new concept of product as a service and implementing by new realises the new characteristic demanded by our clients.
