STPRMS - Sustainable Truck Parking Reservation Management System

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - UPP (STPRMS - Sustainable Truck Parking Reservation Management System)

Reporting period: 2015-07-01 to 2015-10-31

The daily need for truck parking spaces on motor-ways in Europe gets worse, resulting in exceeding of allowed driving time, parking in gateways, accidents, security issues, higher fuel consumption and environmental pollution. Until 2030 the commercial transport shall increase up to 39% and will worsen the situation in Europe. A truck parking reservation system which follows an integrated and holistic approach is therefore necessary and overdue with the objectives to guarantee clean and sustainable transport as well as an efficient and secure transport systems by an interoperable, seamless, technology-led, user-friendly system.
