Platform for Information-Sharing by CIME Applications

Objective

The objective of PISA is to develop and demonstrate a platform for information sharing. This platform will comprise a methodology and tools for information modelling, model integration, implementation and validation, and an operational environment for product and process data sharing.

The approach will be to:

- develop a single overall methodology and prototypes of supporting tools
- define and implement prototypes of an operational platform for the sharing and exchange of product and process data
- demonstrate, test and evaluate the methodology, tools and operational platform
- support the standardisation of reference models and data access specifications.

The methodology and prototypes will be based on accepted methods and tools to ensure wide acceptance of the results by industry.

A pilot demonstration and evaluation in an end-user environment is foreseen. The work will also contribute to emerging standards such as STEP. The results will be incorporated in products marketed by vendor consortium members.
