The Reference Group guarantees the direct link to the stakeholder community. Within the IRG project external experts as well as interested stakeholders will be represented. It provides additional feedback and input from outside the project. Within WP13 3-5 meetings of the IRG will be organised. Within WP13 workshops, seminars, side-events on special topics and the intermediate as well as the final conference will be organised with the support of other project partners. Documents, reports (62) CBA methodology for offshore grids Based on the existing ENTSO-E Guideline for Cost Benefit Analysis of Grid Development Projects and on recommendations issued by Task 7.2, this task will formalize a CBA methodology adequate for offshore grids. The main indicators that must be computed in a CBA will be defined, and guidelines on the approach that must be followed to compute them will be defined. Result of WP7.6 is a methodology rather than a tool. Recommendations of WP7.6 will, where sensible and achievable, be used for WP12. Operation of WPPs connected to DR-HVDC A report that will present the results of the operation of WPPs connected to DR-HVDC, including startup, normal and disturbance operations Requirements for grid code extension List of requirements to adapt and extent existing grid codes (together with WP3) Report on the broad comparison of protection philosophies for the identified grid topologies Based on a literature study, a shallow analysis of selected protection methods is performed using the developed test grids and the benchmark scenarios. It is taking into account the development pace of off-shore wind and technical and economic factors. A business case is made to assess the viability. The initial roadmap and some typical flows are visualised interactively on a geographic map. This initial roadmap will be enriched by WP12 Report on DC GIS diagnostic and monitoring tools and methods The monitoring methods and working principles and limitations of the associated equipment are explained in this deliverable, along with how the measurements made by such techniques can be used to determine the condition of DC GIS. Report with reference scenario and related offshore meshed HVDC grid topology The scenarios for installed generation and demand development are described in this deliverable. This includes both on- and offshore figures which are in input for the business case study. Report on harmonization of WPPs connected to HVDC sysems This deliverable reports the work in tasks 11.3. It deals with ancillary services and harmonic emission from wind power plants connected to HVDC systems with VSC as well as DRU converters. The deliverable includes recommendations to test procedures and model requirements. Requirements for DC switchgear [joint deliverable with WP16] The practical implementations of devices will be categorized in several device classes (defined in collaboration with WP6). For each single class, an allowable range of operation to which the device must comply, is defined. Report on harmonization of HVDC systems (RWTH M46 This deliverable reports the work in tasks 11.2. It deals with HVDC control systems, HVDC protection systems and DC switchgear considering functional requirements, test procedures and model requirements for HVDC systems. White- and position papers on HVDC breaker testing Final report of testing experiences and recommendation Report with a synthesis of the available studies on offshore meshed HVDC grids and related barriers/gaps at the inception of the project Numerous studies have been carried out on the topic of (meshed) offshore grids. Their lessons learned are captured and connected in a report that is used as input for D1.5 First sketch of DP integrating the current PROMOTION project and past project results A first sketch of the deployment plan will be based on interim results and conclusions from the WP's. A careful study of a portfolio of potential solutions and recommendations coming from work packages 1 to 12 is required in order to establish a complete deployment plan. All project partners need to be fully aligned. Exploitation Plan 2 Second Exploitation Plan Harmonisation catalogue This deliverable reports the work in tasks 11.1 regarding the harmonization catalogue. The harmonization catalogue includes the following parts: • Description on relevant harmonization groups and documents. • Analyses of potential new contributions from the technical research work packages WP2-6 and demonstration work packages WP9-10 and WP15-16 in PROMOTioN. These analyses are intended as background for the topic workshops organized by tasks 11.2, 11.3 and 11.4 • Conclusions including the findings from the analyses and the topic workshops Preparation of cost-benefit analysis from a protection point of view The main elements of the DC grid protection system influencing the costs and benefits of systems will be investigated. Document on recommendations for specifying DC GIS systmems A guideline for correctly specifying, i.e. determining the ratings, of DC GIS for application in offshore HVDC meshed networks will be provided in this deliverable. Report with recommendations to best practice for compliance evaluation This deliverable reports work in Task 11.4 regarding compliance evaluation. Apart from international committees work, the deliverable includes national experience e.g. from Germany. The reports also includes justifications and background information for the recommendations. The deliverable deals with grid code requirements to control of WPPs as well as HVDC systems, and grid code requirements to protection, both starting from the ENTSO-E Network Code. Document on test requirements, procedures and methods This document will provide a comprehensive list of test requirements, i.e. aspects of DC GIS that need to be verified prior to installation, and test procedures, i.e. how to verify those aspects, and methods i.e. the test circuits. The interim document will contain the draft proposals on the economic regulatory properties of an EU framework, covering a range of proposals on e.g. cross border cost –benefit allocation, revenue models and investment incentives.
