The purpose of the project is to develop and launch on the pleasure boat market a hybrid type of propulsion and generation system for yachts, that will abate the levels of air and noise pollution produced by these boats with important environmental benefits especially in protected marine areas and tourist zones.
Our solution has demonstrated to be able to face any technical problem related to propulsion, generation and automation, therefore the project will be submitted to Phase2
During technical analysis, we assembled the system of generation and accumulation of the electrical power. As regards the hybrid propulsion system, tests have demonstrated the excellent performance of the system both on land and water. For the integration of the generation system and propulsive energy it has been developed an intelligent control system, that, verified on the ground, has been installed on a real boat to proceed to the first tests in operational setting. Tests using the new diesel-electric propulsion system have shown that the fuel consumption and resulting carbon footprint, as well as noise and vibrations have been considerably reduced by increasing the comfort on board, at sea and at anchor.

Giambrocono & C. Spa has analysed in detail our IP situation in relation to single project components and to the solution as a whole. Such research has led to the identification of different patents that only describe in a general way a propulsive architecture. Thus the analysis carried out has certified our full freedom to operate.

Among main activities to introduce our innovation on the market, our hybrid propulsion system has been presented during the 2016 edition of Elite Days, organised by the shipyard Sanlorenzo. Our innovation, presented as a real Eco Revolution, has obtained a great success. Sanlorenzo has decided to support our project by the means of a letter of endorsement.

All potential risks which can harm the project have been identified and risk-mitigation measures have been defined, especially for technical risks.

The business planning has allowed us to define with precision all the economic variables involved, the required investments, the financial needs and the forecasted turnover, which appears very promising.
Having demonstrated the validity of our business idea, our goal is to install 220 hybrid propulsion kits in 5 years, which will result in the reduction of: 5.5 thousands of tonnes of CO2, 860 tonnes of NOX, 960 tonnes of SOX and 22 tonnes of particulate.
