Objectif

The pressurized casting technique has not so far been extensively developed in Europe, although it was invented in the sixties. The installation at Campi will make it possible to develop mathematical models of the solidification and segregation of the steel as a function of the cooling method for slabs up to 400 mm in thick. The results obtained will be able to be compared with those obtained in the conventional ingot casting and continuous casting processes.
