Objective

In an earlier project sensors were developed to continuously measure the temperature of liquid steel in the ladle and tundish. The aim of this proposal is to apply similar principles to the temperature measurement of the steel in a converter. The method employs several thermocouples mounted in a conducting ceramic holder with their outputs monitored by computer.
