Objective
This project aims at cost savings in the production of stainless steel by the injection of carbon dioxide for steel stirring instead of argon or nitrogen. The volume of oxygen blowing must be kept as low as possible to avoid chromium oxidation. In this procedure a diminution of the electrical energy in electric arc furnaces is expected, as well as an improvement of productivity.
