Objective
At the present time, flatness control is achieved at the exit of the finishing mill on a hot strip mill. Nevertheless, internal stresses and flatness evolution may occur after rolling, during cooling on the run-out table, coiling operations, cooling of the coil, etc. The aim of this research project is to measure and modelise the evolution of internal stress and flatness during the different steps of the process line between hot rolling and uncoiling of the strip, and to optimise the process parameters in order to produce tension-free strip with excellent flatness.
