Objective
The aim of the research is to provide basic parameters for the engineering design and optimal operation of a gas-fired furnace for continuously cast flat products, 10 to 40 mm thick, prior to subsequently direct rolling. The furnace will be developed to meet the thermal requirements typical of thin sections. The work should result in further reductions in energy consumption.
