Environmentally assisted cracking of corrosion resistant alloys

Objective

This project is intended to improve the reliability of test methodology for EAC of corrosion resistant alloys and in particular duplex stainless steels. Studies will be made of duplex steel behaviour and of cracking mechanisms related to the composite nature of these steels. More extensive data on these steels would extend their use to applications in such vital applications as chemical and petro-chemical plants, oil and gas production and energy production (nuclear, geothermal, etc.).

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
