Objective
The aim of the proposed project is to obtain a better knowledge of the incidence of hot rolling below the Ar3 temperature on the microstructure and properties of the hot strip and its impact on the properties of cold-rolled and annealed sheet. The research will consist of laboratory experiments on a pilot mill with ultra low carbon steels, making use of advanced characterization techniques: microstructural, textural and mechanical. The ultimate aim is to be able to draw up new rolling plans requiring less energy and optimised from the metallurgical viewpoint as regards the deep-drawing characteristics required of the finished product.
