Objective
The aim of the research is to examine the formability of a range of coated steels i.e. electro-galvanised, zinc and zinc/nickel, and hot dipped galvanised, zinc and iron zinc alloy, coated steels in a series of laboratory tests covering a number of deformation modes. The results of these tests will be used to determine the best combination of tool material to realise the full formability potential of the base steel for each of the coating types investigated.
