Objective It is intended in this project to develop a computer model to simulate plating thickness as a function of the hot dip plating process and the "air-knife" geometry of the device currently used to control coating thickness. The model shall be applied to optimise uniform coating thicknesses on industrial high-speed zinc and/or aluminium hot dip galvanising plants, particularly as regards air velocity and geometry of the "air-knife".
