Objective
Previous ECSC research has been undertaken in the domain of chromium-free passivation treatment and has indicated that tungstate compounds might be a suitable less toxic alternative. This research intends to identify alternative passivation treatments, both organic and inorganic, to compare them with current commercial Cr-based systems, and to assess application of the preferred treatment in production conditions.
