Objective
It is intended to undertake an investigation of concept of building up car body sub-assemblies using blanks of different materials and different thicknesses in sheet form, laser welded and then stamped to form the three dimensional components. The high quality seam welding techniques should give easier and more flexible forming of complex geometric shapes and reduced scrap.
