Objectif Data concerning the relaxation behaviour of quenched and tempered high yield steels will be provided through this research project, including HAZ and weld metals, and may allow redefinition of rules for stress relieving high yield steels. Temperature and time conditions for stress relieving thick welded components to be found in codes are defined on the basis of classical construction steels with lower yield strengths. This research will provide fabricators with precise stress relieving parameters.
