Objective
The aim of the project is to study the metallurgical opportunities of a compact in-line re-heating treatment after hot rolling. Such a re-heating could be applied in two different rolling lines: Either on the run-out table of conventional hot strip mill or just before the coilier in a heavy warm rolling line aiming at the production of thin gauge hot rolled steels for direct applications of a softer hot band for facilitating the subsequent cold reduction. Various aspects of such a compact re-heating treatment after hot rolling will be investigated.
