Objective
This project concerns an iron-making process using hot air and coal fines to smelt shredded scrap in a converter and produce hot metal at temperatures of some 1500 °C, with a carbon content of about 3.5 %. The main features of this project are as follows: - continuous charging of shredded scrap at the top of the vessel; - hot air blowing at the top of the vessel; - injection of coal fines, lime and oxygen through the bottom tuyeres.
