Objective

A range of contactless techniques for measuring the mechanical properties of steel strip have been developed under the BRITE programme. These techniques could be used for on-line inspection of total coil surface. Measurements will include the degree of recrystallization, texture and elastic limit values. Testing on an industrial scale will allow laboratory scale experiments to be validated and test procedures to be established.
