Objective
This project will provide information to obtain and maintain an adapted ventilation, necessary for the security by rapid advance drivages.
- measure the emission levels in different seams, the entry point of gas in headings, the potential accumulation of firedamp and the means for preventing accumulations
- examine the effectiveness of on-board ventilation systems of continuous miners
- evaluate different conducting systems : resistance, leakage and their robustness for use in underground
- examine elements of fan design to provide higher aerodynamic efficiency
- examine the means to integrate ventilation and monitoring systems with the advancing machine in order that the highest efficiency is maintained at all time.
