1. Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project
The concept of this project is to organise two competitions for transport research awards to be announced at the TRA conference in 2018

- A young researcher competition with the goal of stimulating the interest among young researchers/ students in the field of sustainable surface transport.
- A competition for senior researchers in the field of innovative surface transport concepts based on results only from EU-funded projects.

The objectives to be achieved by the TRA Visions project are:
- To achieve a strong participation of young transportation researchers in the TRA-2018 conference;
- To identify the top performing young researchers in all modes of surface transportation and acknowledge their achievement;
- To have strong participation from senior researchers in transportation in the TRA-2018 conference
- To identify champions of transport research in EU funded projects
- To further develop the TRA conference as the premier series in its field in the world,
- To achieve good coordination with the TRA conference organisers in order to benefit from high level of media coverage.
- To build a vibrant community of young transport researchers in the European Union, EU candidate and potential candidate countries and the European Economic Area;
- To promote and acknowledge excellence in research at senior level
- To promote an inter-disciplinary approach, linking basic science, socio-economics and applied sciences/engineering;
- To stimulate the imagination of delegates at the TRA-2018 conference and provoke discussion on the future of surface transport;
- To promote interaction between young transport researchers and senior researchers working in different modes.
2 Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

2.1 Introduction
This section outlines the deliverables per WP completed during the first 12 month period. The attached document in the Technical Report Part B contains the detailed progress outlined per WP and for each WP there is a summary of the work done and the progress towards objectives and details for each task, listing of the significant results as well as the use of resources and any deviations from Annex I. This information could not be included in this form as it exceeded the maximum allowable number of characters but as mentioned is fully included in the Technical Report part B

2.5 WP5 Awareness, Promotion, Dissemination, Media & TRA2018 Conference

Significant results
All tasks were completed as scheduled and the following deliverables delivered in a timely manner according to the project’s schedule:
• D5.1 Dissemination Road Map
• D5.2 TRA VISIONS 2018 website and online presence
• D5.3a Promotion material (Flyer, posters etc.)
• D5.3b Videos of the winning ideas
• D5.3c Printed contest yearly publication
• D5.4 Execution of the full Award Ceremony for the TRA2018 Conference
3 Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far)

The final results of the project which are the effective organisation execution and dissemination of the two transport competitions are expected to have the following impact.
- The competitions and project final results will stimulate young researchers/students to submit their research work to the competition.
- The competitions and project final results will encourage partners from EU-funded projects to further develop innovative ideas from their projects.
- The competitions and project final results will directly support the TRA conference (scheduled to take place in the next reporting period) as a successful, high quality scientific event with a high level of media coverage which is considered as the first Transport research conference in Europe.
- The competitions and project final results will efficiently disseminate knowledge and results of European and National research projects in the area of Sustainable Surface Transport and thus improve the coordination of research, technology development and innovation in the Surface Transport sector in Europe.
- The competitions and project final results will increase European competitive advantage
