Objective
Aim of research:
Ergonomic improvement of aids and methods for instructors to ensure better crane drivers and more efficient training. Improvements include the measurement and recording of the practical exercises performed by trainees to permit feedback from instructor to trainee and provide an objective basis for assessment.
Research method:
On the basis of a thorough analysis, identification of problem areas and potential solutions with a view to devising a new approach. Provisional validation and definitive design with the aid of a prototype.
Object of research:
Current training methodology using an adapted training crane at Hoogovens Ijmuiden.
