Development and testing of self-training points for safety/technical training and further training in mines

Objective

Aim of project:

To develop and prove a concept for interactive instruction of individual employees or small groups of employees at mines.

Method: ,SP 1 Installation of a pilot learning laboratory with interactive instructional aids for safety and health.

Development of interactive training materials for safety in mining topics.

yPractical trials of the modules developed, with immediate evaluation and field assessment.

Aims of the research:

To supplement instructor-based forms of communication, it is proposed to develop and test forms of individualised computer-based instruction in order to meet the increasing needs of the mines workforce in this regard.

Such forms of communication are intended to support and promote self-paced learning by employees, and to take account of the factors affecting learning capacity, such as micromotor skills, experience of interactive learning, previous knowledge and motivation.

Since such recourse-based forms of teaching are not part of established in-service training practice in Germany, a particular feature of the project is the need to be aware of and promote acceptance of interactive learning.
