Did you know 500 million standard EUR pallets are used in 4 billion transports a year in Europe alone? At the same time 85% of all trucks are not using their full capacity - driving around with un-used space? The problem is handling of the goods – because of difficulty in stacking the pallets. SpaceInvader has invented and patented a portable pallet rack, which solves the problem, and enables double stacking of EUR pallets in the transport- and logistics chain and thereby enables utilization of the full height in trucks – releasing the high value of the un-used cargo space. By increasing the utilization of space in the transport- and logistics chain - there is a direct correlation between the financial benefit for the transport customers and the environmental impact and benefit for society. Higher space utilization leads to more goods on fewer trucks resulting in a direct decrease in CO2 emissions and other harmful particles released by diesel use in trucks. Main focus and top priority for the feasibility study has been to analyse if the physical product is ready for the market and if there is strong enough business case for the customers, to create a market for the product/concept - and verify the environmental potential impact of the solution.
