Commercialisation of Advanced Composite Material Technology: Carbon-Glass Hybrid in PowderEpoxy for Large (60-100m) Wind Turbine Blades

Deliverables

End User Future Innovation Panel Report

Set up of End User Future Innovation panel to capture stakeholder input (research community, OEMs, operators, industry platforms like EUMaT) on new materials demonstration. Virtual meetings of innovation panel at regular intervals to provide strategic feedback into Steering Committee as part of iterative product development process. Updates from the panel to be shared with wider stakeholder community as appropriate through website blogs and news updates. To be updated annually (M24, 36).

Publications

Conference papers (UEDIN) 5 papers will be generated with 4 to be peer reviewed. Participation in Key Conferences (Eire): There is a well-established set of conferences, representing the renewables industry whose roles include communication of technology and commercial developments. Examples of Conferences will include IWEA Annual Conference, EWEA Annual Conference, Renewable UK – Global Offshore Wind and EWEA Offshore 2017 which has over 8,000 people in attendance. 5 conference papers will be publishes by EC.

Project Website & Videos

Communication tools (WestBIC to lead with input from all partners): Appropriate branding and communication tools will be developed to support communication & dissemination activities. This will include a web page to be created for the project and two videos/animations will be filmed (one more technical targeted at primary audiences and the second targeted at non-technical audiences & highlighting wider benefits), Blog type articles presenting project progress will be posted on the project/ÉireComposites website and updated regularly to show progress. At least one national newspaper article is planned if the FTI application is successful. Social media such as Twitter, Facebook and Linked-In will be used as appropriate to inform wider stakeholders of progress.

Social Media Channels

Social media such as Twitter, Facebook and Linked-In set up and used as appropriate to inform wider stakeholders of progress.

Certified Materials and Report on Benchmarking

Certified materials. Report on benchmarking against competitors’ materials and demonstrating powder epoxy laminates to have superior mechanical properties.
