Concept Design for Risk Analysis Methods and Components – Updated Cascading Effects approach (opens in new window)

The effects of cascading effects on the vulnerability of local communities was addressed and documented in D6.1. As stated by end-users, the modelled vulnerability assessment could be useful on a strategic level during the planning or training phase. However, according to end-users feedback there still is the need of assessing potential cascading effects during response actions due to changes in hazard dynamics or hazard intensity that enforce them to split resources in the field. This deliverable will outline updated concepts on the assessment of cascading effects based on the gaps so identified.
