Computer Aided Testing of Real-Time Software

Objective

In this project, the compiler construction experience from Systeam has been combined with the extensive experience in the construction and testing of real-time software from ESD. Although the work was concentrated on the adoption of an existing system for computer-aided testing of real-time software, developed and in use with ESD, the real issues involved were the information to be provided by the compiler to the testing tool to allow real-time testing on the Ada level and the limitations of such testing.
The knowledge acquired during the project has already been used by Systeam to enhance the program debugging component of their implementation system and will also be used within ESD during the development of new software test tools.
Both partners are also involved in the ESPRIT project DESCARTES (Debugging and Specification of Ada Real-Time Embedded Systems, project 937).

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
