The report will cover: 1. Key parameters of new-generation detection systems 2. Novel materials and sensors 3. Detector systems based hybrid detectors (segmentation, mix materials) 4. Operational impact on alarm adjudication identifying the added value of list-mode data acquisition combined to a centralized database The final report will include all topics . Interim report on detection technologies Novel detection technologies: Analysis of contemporary R&D on radiation sensors and their potential for nuclear security applications. The report will cover: 1. Key parameters of new-generation detection systems 2. Novel materials and sensors Topics 1 and 2 will be addressed in an interim report to be delivered after 12 months Requirements for alarm adjudication A report on general requirements, best practices, obstacles and opportunities related to real-time transmission of data to a centralized database for timely alarm adjudication (M24). The planning for this can only be undertaken at the end of 2017 when the commitment and willingness of the Member States to move in the direction of joint data structures has been ascertained. This will be a key issue to be addressed in the revised work programme to be issued in 2018. State of the Art report on existing guidelines for mitigating explosive threats to soft targets A state of the art report on existing mitigation guidance for open places/ soft targets Feasibility Report on performance requirements A report on the feasibility of establishing quality control and performance requirements for measuring devices. Progress on the Guidance work (D2.4) will also be included . Guidance for Water Security Planning Specifications for the Guidance to water utility operators to produce a Water Security Plan that would address the security aspects in drinking water supply (M24). Pre-normative research will be carried out to establish the validity and reliability of those elements already proposed that would form a security plan that have the potential for further EU-level harmonisation. Based on the eight elements identified and proposed for validation, i.e.: 1. Decision of water utility to establish a Water Security Plan; 2. Vulnerability assessment; 3. Define protection level; 4. Determine the protection level; 5. Undertake a gap analysis; 6. Design of event detection and protection system; 7. Additional use of Water Security system to support general operation; 8. Prepare an emergency response plan. The prime candidate element for consideration of harmonisation will be 6. Design of event detection and protection system. This will be confirmed at the kick-off meeting. Regular ERNCIP newsletters At least three newsletters each year. Other (1) Final Dissemination workshop The aim of this workshop is to disseminate to the security related community the results of the project. This will take place in close collaboration with the Community of Users initiative.
