The project finished the following results have been achieved:
• The POWER4BIO catalogue of bio-based solutions. The catalogue is an online database that to date contains 36 factsheets on existing bio-based solutions towards resource-efficient biorefineries with tested potential for market uptake with high technical readiness level (TRL) above 6. Solutions were chosen from the application fields of bioenergy, biomaterials, biochemicals, and food & feed.
• 12 best practices paying special attention to two elements: rural application of the selected biorefineries and their competitivity, classified in 4 categories, in view to its application, such as, bioenergy, biochemicals, feed&food and biomaterials.
• 10 good policy examples are summarized in an integrative manner addressing issues such as type of instrument, main objective of the policy instruments, policy coherence, particularly links to EU policy instruments, impact of the policy instruments in time, money spent and objectives reached…
• An overview of public policies and regulations for the bio-based economy (BBE) with special attention to policy integration over different scales (from EU, national to regional) and across different policy domains.
• Guideline with suggested methodologies and examples and further recommended tools to support Central and Eastern European Regions.
• Organization of 10 cross-visits in 10 regions which brought together different multi-actor groups (policy makers, practitioners, and academics) across each of the region. 1 897 stakeholders were reached (it is equal 847 participants in total) during the different module of 10 cross-visits organized within the POWER4BIO Project.
• 4 face-to-face training courses to 11 online sessions.
• 46 European-wide networks were recommended to CEE stakeholders that best match the bio-based resources and the bioeconomy of these regions.
• Three-day conference Bioeconomy Innovation Week, organised withing the POWER4BIO project, took place March 3 to 5. More than 200 stakeholders from several fields participated in the event.
• Cross-border cooperation between regions actions have been developed to increase incomes.
• Guidelines and recommendations for the use of six selected financial instruments of particular interest to the POWER4BIO regions.
• Guidelines on how to access existing financial instruments to design new ones.
• 19 practical examples of business cases were investigated in terms of business value and described in detail, using Business Model Canvas (BMC) format.
• CAP-related materials webpage was created to maximize the impact of related results of P4B to this critical program.
• 33 videos have been generated (training, cross-visits, tailor-made videos per region…).
• Within the 30 months of POWER4BIO, 137,519 stakeholders have been reached.
All dissemination activities, these include users of the POWER4BIO website and followers of the four POWER4BIO social media channels, reached 137,519 stakeholders. Around one third were stakeholders from general public, around 25 percent were stakeholders from academia, followed by roughly 16 percent stakeholders from industry and other stakeholders. In absolute numbers, almost 10,000 stakeholders from policy were reached. A significant portion of stakeholders was reached via social media. POWER4BIO reached a total of 2551 followers with the project’s own Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube channels, however, by very active dissemination via numerous social media accounts of engaged POWER4BIO partners, a total of 68,304 stakeholders were reached.
