Periodic Reporting for period 1 - EEN Northern NL (EEN Northern Netherlands: enhancing the innovation capacity of SMEs)

During the H2020 part of the EEN Northern Netherlands work, we asisted 11 companies with Key Account Management work and with EIMC assistance. We applied the Innovation Health Check methodology at the latter group.
Our plan was to assist a combined number of 10 cases and we managed 11 for a similar budget and slighty higher number of person months.
The Northern Netherlands does not particularly score high in the SME instrument applications. Therefore we rely to our innovation work on EIMC assistance to a group of selected SMEs to stimulate them to work more efficient and also to stimulate them to make more use of the EEN network in general.
2019 was a good year for H2020 work, since the partner of Cube recruited some more people working on the programme and was therefore able to find potential candidates for the H2020 work in 2020. It is always a challenge finding suitable candidates for the work and we are happy we were able to find a short list for 2020 in 2019. We also were able to reach the target set for 2019.

We have assisted 11 SMEs with innovation support in the year 2019. These actions have led to at least 9 innovation improvements at these companies (as being reported).
One KAM assisted company was supported in their work and 10 EIMC company advises have been processed. The work has led to 9 incremental innovations in sectors as: maritime, agro-food, manufacturing and more.

The impact of the work concentrates around the companies we have assisted. This work is individual company related. However, we now have a database of assisted companies and we see effects in the regular EEN work where companies return to the organisation (Cube or BDF) for other internatoinalisation demand.
