Demonstration of shot noise limited balanced detection for PTS (opens in new window)

Realisation of an experimental set-that allows for signal to noise characteristics that prove shot noise limited performance of the two-beam set-up. One beam shall sample only noise, whereas the other beam shall sample noise and the photo-thermal signal.
