Objective
The main purpose of the proposal is the development of bifuel light-duty vehicles characterized by a highly innovative fuel feeding / engine / after-treatment technology and a sophisticated control strategy able to manage the two fuels, gas and gasoline, in such a way to preserve the performance that can be achieved by monofuel vehicles.
Targets for delivery vans/minibuses running on CNG and passenger cars running on LPG are as follows:
- Equivalent CO2 emissions from 18% (for LPG) to 30% (for CNG) less than those shown by gasoline vehicles of the same class;
- Pollutant emissions: less than on third of the 2005 European regulated emissions limits for normal CNG and LPG vehicles and negligible regulated emissions.
