Future propulsion and integration: towards a hybrid-electric 50-seat regional aircraft

Deliverables

Open Source Tool

Through this deliverable the decisionmaking software environment that will be developed in FUTPRINT50 will become publicly available through the project website This framework will be compatible with all the models described in D35 and will also describe the architecture of the integration tool This software can be used by the community to add different models of different technology and to accelerate the tradeoff studies analysis

Sub-system models and system architectures for integrated tool

This deliverable presents and discusses the outcome from WP3.5 and WP3.6. The models of all the sub-systems will become available to the public through the FUTPRINT50 website with a description and validation. Furthermore, the specification of data exchange protocols and data format along with convergence and compliance criteria will be provided in order to enable an holistic and integrated software platform.

Integrated tool environment for trade-off studies and optimisation

The programming of a software tool is finished which allows tradeoff studies and optimization of the design parameters of the hybridelectric propulsion system Optimized parameters of aircraft design and the hybridelectric propulsion chain are found

Open Case Study

Publication of the prepared data of D43 The data of the reference aircraft will be accessable for other projects

Initial Communication Pack

The initial communication pack will provide the basic materials for the project communication The initial communication pack will include the project logo poster leaflet presentation and deliverable templates

Y2040 Aircraft FUTPRINT50 Reference

This deliverable is a reference document compiling the results from T21 T22 23 and 24 It will give the project the benchmarking reference to evaluate the performance of the tools and solutions to be researched Namely a up to 50 PAX conventional commuter aircraft its missions figures of merit and metrics that will drive the comparisons It will be written in an incremental way according to the development of the different tasks connected to Milestone 1 and 2

Final Roadmap

This report will be a continuation of D51 and will present the final roadmap for key enabling technologies and testing infrastructures for regulatory frameworks and for future European demonstrator The findings from the architectures assessment and key technologies testing and validation as well as from workshops and discussions with experts will be used to consolidate the roadmap

Plan for dissemination, communication & exploitation of the project results

Report on the planned and performed dissemination and exploitation activities during the first year of the project Based on the preliminary Dissemination and Exploitation plan included in the proposal this deliverable will summarize the consortiums strategy and future actions to disseminate exploit and protect the foreground expected to be generated within the project

Communication Pack for the Project Legacy

Preparation of dissemination material final leaflet poster etc The dissemination material will be used by all partners in events performed after the end of the project

Sub-system enablers & technology gaps

The stateoftheart survey will be performed and documented in the fields of energy sources and storage energy harvesting rotors and thermal management technologies to reduce drag and weight From this analysis the key enabling technologies as well as technology gaps will be identified and used to drive the developments in WP32 WP33 and WP34

Feasible energy system integration & System immanent issues properly addressed

Multiple energy system architectures are identified and all relevant component characteristics are determined Relevant certification requirements are identified and their impact onto the integration and propulsion architecture are discussed

Assessment of research infrastructures for testing & validation

This deliverable will be the final and full report on the assessment of the experimental facilities used to perform the studies in FUTPRINT50 Through this assessment a test plan for validation experiments of energy harvesting rotors and energy storage system will be defined and documented

Final Plan for the Dissemination & Communication of the project results

Report on the performed and foreseen after the end of the project dissemination and exploitation activities In particular this deliverable will summarize the consortiums strategy and concrete actions to disseminate exploit and protect the foreground generated by the project

Exploitation Plan for the next generation European demonstrator aircraft

Report on the activities related to the exploitation of project results in view of a future demonstrator at European level

Evaluation against reference aircraft

A detailed comparison to a reference aircraft is done considering all relevant economical and ecological criteria Furthermore operational aspects which are vital for a broad application of the aircraft have been investigated

Public Website and Social Media Groups

The FUTPRINT50 public website and the projects social media groups will be established providing information about the project its objectives challenges and expected results Regular updates with the projects progress and achievements will be made keeping constantly updated the FUTPRINT50 Community
