Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

Diabetes is a common chronic disease that causes suffering for patients and vast costs for society. We have developed an e-health solution for diabetes that aims to improve patient outcomes, save time for healthcare professionals and reduce costs for society. Our SME Phase 1 feasibility study aimed to validate the commercial feasibility of our product with target market segments and key stakeholders. It included financial planning and specification of product features.

Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

In the project, we have assessed the technical, commercial and financial feasibility of introducing our product to the market. This included identifying features needed for a fully commercialised solution, target markets and stakeholders. We have developed a strategy for introducing our product to the market, including regulatory requirements, operating costs and revenue projections.

Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far)

The outcomes of the project resulted in improvements to our plan for the next phase of the business. These improvements include changing some of our target markets, enhancing our implementation models and changing our cooperative strategy. We are thus in a better position to realise the long-term impact of our offering in terms of patient health, healthcare savings and job creation.
