Periodic Reporting for period 1 - Manuback (MANUBACK, the smart garment for operator protection in the field of Manual Handling of Goods) Reporting period: 2019-10-01 to 2020-03-31 Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project The DYNABACK solution aims to identify and reduce bad movements of the spine, give an early warning of back issues and increase healthy movements. Our solution is especially tailored to face the needs of the Work&Safety market, and to help both employees and employers prevent back-pain.Back pain is the second leading cause of absenteeism from work, after the common cold and accounts for 15% of sick leaves. Back injuries cause 100 million lost days of work annually, and are the most costly injury for employers. The cost of a back pain injury claim far surpasses others. Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far The main objective that Dynaback team had in the frame of SME-Instrument Phase 1, was to identify the market for its product and the market needs which have to be satisfied.Dynaback team considers that this mission is successfully accomplished. Thanks to the support provided by SME-Instrument, in terms of funding and business coaching, Madesign was able to improve its market approach and set goals for the future development of its marketing and business strategy.Madesign is currently looking for extra funding with aim of continuing the development of Dynaback garment. Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far) Dynaback has collected ambulatory data in real-world environement to assess the efficacy of its product. Such collection of data has never been performed, to our knowledge, according to scientific publication we have had access to. The ongoing process is analysis of data, in order to prove the added value to the customer.
