Dental analysis, such as segmentation of anatomical landmarks, and diagnosis of a multitude of diseases on the basis of 2D and 3D X-ray scans are very complicated, error-prone, time-demanding and costly processes. Therefore, there is a huge need to accurately speed up 2D and 3D dental X-ray analysis and diagnosis. Nowadays, each dentist spends almost one month on performing such workflows. Currently, available dental technologies are merely capable of reducing related labour costs with 25%. Promaton has developed Artificial Intelligent Dentistry (AID - now Apox) solutions to automate both types of dental analysis and diagnosis workflows and ameliorate cost-efficiency with 90%.
The goal during AID phase 1 for Promaton was to validate the viability of AID solutions’ value proposition and business model (price points and license model) with prospect large dental technology manufacturers and service organisations. Moreover, the goals were to identify barriers to scale up internationally and to identify partners and investors to finance AID industrialization during Phase 2.
The Commercial Feasibility Study has been performed with positive results. The value proposition and price points have been validated and willingness to pay is confirmed with key stakeholders. And through investigation, selection and negotiation a strategic partnership has been formed to support Promatons multi-year business proposition, industrialization and go-to-market strategy.
Regulatory constraint analysis has resulted in regulatory strategy marketing of Promaton Apox as a Class 2 medical device and a GDPR compliance roadmap.
As a result of the work undertaken the strategic vision is confirmed and the business plan will be executed.
