Objective
OBJECTIVES
With the aim of improving the competitive ability of graphics companies, the project is aimed at creating open and distance training modules enabling SMEs in this sector to be self-sufficient in terms of training. New information technologies have radically transformed the typical profile of employees of graphics companies. They are now expected to acquire multiple skills not only in respect of technological knowledge but also with regard to product management and marketing. The project will bring together continuing and initial training centres and the SMEs of the graphics industry with the aim of promoting life-long learning at the workplace.
ACTIVITIES
The partners will first analyse the training requirements emerging in the graphics industry in the partner countries involved in the project. By pooling results, training modules will be produced which will incorporate tools for simulating the activities of the SMEs in this sector. A CD-ROM dealing with marketing procedures will be incorporated in an open and distance training programme. These new training tools will be evaluated by the countries involved in the project with the aim of identifying and eliminating deficiencies. The final product, in the form of a video cassette and CD-ROM, will be marketed. A trainer's guide will be available in a printed version or electronically via the Internet.
PRODUCTS
An open training module, an interactive CD-ROM for distance learning, a video cassette to supplement the training modules and a trainer's guide available via the Internet will be created.
