Multimedia training system on footwear manufacturing technology

Objective

OBJECTIVES
Continuing training in its traditional form can often be rather formal and offers little attraction for employees. It is, however, of vital importance for companies in an environment which is subject to frequent technological change and is particularly competitive. The partners of the present project propose to improve continuing training methods and aids in the footwear industry. Their objective is to create an interactive, multimedia-based training tool which will enable students to teach themselves and will promote continuing training.

ACTIVITIES
The partners will start by acquiring the expertise necessary for using multimedia technologies to present the contents of continuing training courses already designed for the footwear industry in a way which will be the most effective for learning purposes. They will focus on the interactive dimension of the training in order to promote active learning, and will use the illustrative capabilities of multimedia to facilitate comprehension and to depict new technologies used in the manufacture of shoes. The tool will then be tested and evaluated at several SMEs.

PRODUCTS
A multimedia-based interactive training programme and tool relating to the technologies used in the footwear sector, and a user manual.
