Objective
OBJECTIVES
Companies in the field of electricity supply have been faced with several types of change in recent years - the deregulation of markets which has lead to increased competition and changed demand, technological innovations, and a more decentralised approach to work organisation. Electronic data processing and the new communication techniques which are beginning to be used in the sector require work to be reorganised and engineers' skills to be updated. It should be pointed out that this target group is characterised by a high average age and a long career in the same sector (which implies a certain resistance to technical and organisational innovation). If the electricity supply companies want to remain competitive they must adapt and improve the quality of the service offered. Therefore, the partners of this project propose to anticipate the new qualification and training requirements which will arise as a result of these changes.
ACTIVITIES
The partners will start by analysing the new requirements of the sector and defining the new core skills and professional profiles which will be necessary in the future. They will then design adapted training programmes which will enable the employees of the sector to master electronic data processing and the new communication techniques, and which will be aimed at developing initiative, adapting management to a decentralised set-up and improving customer services and safety. An employee exchange programme will then be organised and a network of companies and institutions set up for the exchange of experience and information on the development of skills.
