Objective
OBJECTIVES
The emergence of an information society will call for a higher level of employee skills. However, training offers and employment services rarely make provision for this new requirement. The objective of this project is to improve the capacity for anticipating training needs and to promote equal opportunity in the provision of training and employment services. The partners wish to help young people seeking work - especially the young and women returnees - to obtain effective careers guidance and to acquire the skills they need.
ACTIVITIES
The major activities of the project will be developing and testing the design of a new method for anticipating training needs. This computer-assisted anticipation method will be transferred to training systems at a local level. The partners will then promote the use of information technologies for accessing vocational training and employment. For this purpose, data banks providing information on employment and training opportunities will be set up at a local level, and will also offer a computer-assisted search facility. A best-practice manual will finally be produced and distributed among the Member States.
