Strengthening key qualifications through qualification need analysis to assist SMEs and their staff

Objective

OBJECTIVES
The objective of this project is to develop an instrument for personnel development, for the benefit of SMEs, with the aim of helping them to analyse their internal training requirements. The approach will be based on an individual analysis of requirements. The professional 'biography' of each employee will be taken into account and a self-analysis with regard to potential and requirements will be compared with the requirements of the company. This instrument is more particularly designed for companies which are in the process of reorganisation and which intend to rely on employees directly involved with development. The skills required to do this, such as self-analysis, the ability to take the initiative in planning matters, execution and evaluation, are encouraged early on - during the analysis of training requirements - by involving the employee in this process.

ACTIVITIES
First, it is planned to examine existing requirement analysis systems, with the aim of subsequently developing suitable instruments designed to develop core skills. It is then planned to test and adapt these instruments and to apply these tools in test companies. Finally, transferable instruments will be developed.

PRODUCTS
The final product will be a guide to best practice in needs analysis for core skills.
