Objective
OBJECTIVES
The participation of SMEs in training measures is all too often sporadic. To remedy this situation, the project proposes to develop and implement a methodology for analysing the training requirements of cottage-industry SMEs which will incorporate the so-called tutor (or mentor/coach) support method. This method will make it possible to draw up training plans at company level and, if possible, at the sectoral level. The partners will proceed from the assumption that access to training measures will be facilitated by accompanying work on the part of those responsible within the company and through the direct involvement of the people concerned. The long-term aim of the project is to improve awareness within the managements of SMEs of the importance of the training tool as a strategic investment.
ACTIVITIES
The tutor will use an active method, in very close co-operation with the employees of the companies, of making observations and holding semi-directive discussions at the workplace. The aim is to collect the information required for defining requirements and the measures necessary for remedying existing deficiencies. It is therefore intended to test and adjust a specific methodology for determining training requirements using the tutor or mentor support method, with the aim of improving access to training in small set-ups. The standardisation of the method will be ensured by networks of business consultants in the chambers of commerce participating in this project.
